Located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago is the island of Grenada. Grenada is often known as the “Spice Island” and is one of the world’s largest exporters of nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger crops. It has been colonized by the French and the British until its independence in 1974. Grenada has a mountainous interior and many beautiful beaches along its coast. We chose to stay at the Coyaba Beach Resort on Grand Anse Beach which is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The hotel is very average but nothing beats its location smack in the middle of the 2-mile long white sand beach. Again like in many other Caribbean islands, the more luxurious hotels here, such as Sandals la Source or Laluna require all-inclusive deals as well as minimum stays.
