After our stay at Semeli Hotel in Mykonos Town, we moved down to the Branco Hotel on Platis Gialos which is the longest beach of the island. Branco Mykonos is one of the newer kids on the block located right on the beach with their own beach club. It is a short walk to the famous Scorpios Beach Club. There are about 25 beaches in Mykonos with secluded ones, local family ones, ones dominated by party clubs, and ones with laid back beach clubs. Regardless which one you choose, the beautiful white sand and azure waters will make you want to return. The more famous standalone beach clubs are Scorpios, Nammos, Principote, Jackie O’, etc. There are also ones within hotels such as the Santa Marina. We didn’t go to any of the beach super clubs such as Paradise Club or Super Paradise where international DJs play pounding music until dawn. Instead, we went to two of the more popular but very chill beach clubs: Principote at Panormas and Scorpios at Paraga. During the busy season of July and August, make sure you book your sunbeds as well as lunch well ahead of time. It will also be best to head down to the beach clubs to claim your loungers before 1pm or so. There is house music going all day with the DJ coming on around 6-7pm.
That’s a wrap. Our week in Mykonos just flew by….until next time!
Stay tuned for my posts on my upcoming trip to Ethiopia and Madagascar!
